#BlueVision2030 A participatory journey to jointly build the future of the sea, combining innovation, sustainability, and regional development.
Puglia Region launches the Public Consultation on the Strategy for a Sustainable Blue Economy in Puglia.
This process belongs to PROCESSI REGIONALI
The process is promoted by the Department for Economic Development.
The Puglia Region officially launches a public consultation aimed at gathering opinions, proposals, and observations concerning the strategy for a sustainable blue economy in Puglia. This is a crucial step to jointly define future directions in a sector that is strategic for the region’s economic, social, and environmental development.
The regional strategy for the development of the blue economy focuses on the sustainable enhancement of maritime and coastal resources, proposing a forward-looking vision that integrates various sectoral policies. It impacts, among other areas, innovation, economic development, research and development, environmental protection, fishing and aquaculture, coastal tourism, and port logistics.
The objective is to build an integrated maritime economic ecosystem capable of generating widespread growth, skilled employment, and territorial resilience, thereby contributing to Puglia’s competitiveness and the sustainability of its resources.
In line with Regional Law no. 28/2017 on participation, and with the aim of ensuring broad and transparent engagement, the Region initiates a public consultation process based on the assessments made by the Steering Committee on the blue economy. This process actively involves key local stakeholders, citizens, public and private organisations, associations, and social entities, including potential beneficiaries of European programmes and funds and partners involved in the S3 thematic Partnership “Maritime Sustainable Blue BioEconomy”.
The consultation process is structured around a dedicated questionnaire and the organisation of thematic roundtables, including through the network of the Community of Practice – Maritime Sustainable Blue Bio-Economy and the partners of the B-VISA2030 – Blue Vision 2030 in the South Adriatic project.
This activity aims to explore, among other aspects, possible regional legislative and regulatory provisions, to map existing projects and initiatives, and to define information and dissemination actions, also with the goal of broadening participation in the support measures promoted by the Region.
Through the contributions received during this phase of listening and dialogue, the BlueVision2030 Strategy can be further enriched, becoming a concrete expression of a participatory process. In this way, the Puglia Region intends to build, together with the territories, a maritime development model that is truly sustainable, innovative, and consistent with the environmental, economic, and social potential of its coastal and marine heritage.
